Cadence privacy policy
Last updated 2 November 2026
Cadence is a training coach. To coach you it reads health data from your phone and what you tell it, and it uses AI to write your coaching. This page says what that data is, where it goes, and how to delete it. Cadence doesn't sell your data, doesn't show ads, and doesn't use analytics or tracking tools.
Cadence is run by Cadence Training, operated by Jimmy Photirath, in Australia. Questions or requests: support@cadencetraining.app.
What Cadence collects
- Your account: email address, name, and what you enter when setting up: age, height, sex, weight, training history, goals, sport, weekly schedule, coaching preferences and time zone.
- Health data from your phone, only with your permission (Apple Health on iPhone, Health Connect on Android): weight, steps, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, workouts, distance, speed, calories burned, nutrition, and the GPS routes of your runs. You choose which of these to share in your phone's settings. With "Hide routes" on in Profile, your phone removes run locations before anything is sent.
- What you tell Cadence: morning check-ins, chat messages, injuries and medical conditions you mention, menstrual cycle details if you choose to track them (period dates, flow, symptoms, your usual cycle and period length, and whether you want coaching by cycle phase or by symptoms), food you log, barcodes you scan, and your training programs and lifts.
- Food photos: sent to be read by AI when you snap a meal or a nutrition label, then discarded. Cadence doesn't store the photos, only the food items you log.
- What Cadence works out about you: coaching notes, a running summary of your situation, daily recommendations and weekly reviews. You can see the notes and summary in Profile.
- Usage records: for each AI request, which model ran, how many tokens it used and what it cost. These records hold no content.
- Your device's push token, if you allow notifications, so Cadence can send them to you.
How it's used
Only to run Cadence for you: your check-in analysis, chat replies, training programs and adjustments, food estimates and weekly reviews, plus keeping AI costs in check. Your data isn't sold, rented or used for advertising.
Who processes it
Cadence uses these service providers to run. Each gets only what its job needs.
- Supabase stores Cadence's database and handles sign-in. The database is hosted in Sydney, Australia.
- Vercel runs Cadence's server, in its Sydney region.
- Anthropic provides the AI (Claude) that writes your coaching. When Cadence analyses a check-in, answers a chat, estimates food, drafts a program or writes a weekly review, the relevant parts of your data are sent to Anthropic's API, which processes it in the United States. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, data sent through its API isn't used to train its models.
- Resend sends your sign-in codes, so it receives your email address.
- Open Food Facts receives a product's barcode number when you scan it, and nothing about you.
- Open-Meteo provides the weather for your runs. It receives each run's start point, rounded to about 10 km, and its dates, and nothing about who you are. It never receives the route, and with "Hide routes" on in Profile your runs aren't sent.
- Expo delivers push notifications through Apple's and Google's services, if you allow them. It receives your device's push token and the notification's text, which can include how many days you trained last week.
- Apple Maps (iPhone) and Google Maps (Android) show the map on your run screen. Your phone downloads map images for the area of your run directly from them.
Supabase, Vercel, Anthropic, Expo, Apple and Google are US companies, and Open-Meteo is also based overseas, so staff or systems outside Australia may access this data when they provide their service. Sending data to Anthropic means it leaves Australia.
Sharing a meal
If you use "Send this meal", anyone with that link can see the meal's food items until the link expires. Nothing else about you is shared.
How long it's kept
As long as your account exists. When you delete your account, everything above is deleted, except the usage records, which are kept with your identity removed. Copies in the database provider's backups are removed as those backups expire.
Your choices
- Delete your account in the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. It deletes everything immediately and can't be undone. Data in your phone's health app isn't touched.
- Delete your account without the app: see Deleting your account below.
- Stop sharing health data at any time in your phone's Health or Health Connect settings.
- Hide run routes in Profile, and leave cycle tracking off if you don't want it.
- See or correct your data: most of it is visible in the app. For a copy of everything, or to correct something, email support@cadencetraining.app.
Deleting your account
In the app: open Cadence, go to Profile → Account → Delete account, type "delete" and confirm. Your account and data are deleted straight away.
Without the app: email support@cadencetraining.app from the email address you sign in with, asking for your Cadence account to be deleted. It will be deleted within 7 days, and you'll get a reply when it's done.
Either way, deletion removes your account, profile, check-ins, chats, coaching notes, health data, runs, lifts, programs, food logs and shared meal links. The only thing kept is the AI usage records described above, with your identity removed. Copies in the database provider's backups are removed as those backups expire. Data in your phone's Apple Health or Health Connect isn't touched.
Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). The database only accepts requests from Cadence's server and from your own signed-in session, and each account can reach only its own data.
Not medical advice
Cadence is a training coach, not a medical service. It isn't a substitute for a doctor or physio, especially for injuries, illness, eating concerns or anything about your cycle.
Age
Cadence is for people aged 18 and over.
Changes and complaints
If this policy changes in a way that matters, Cadence will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you have a concern about how your data is handled, email support@cadencetraining.app first. If you aren't satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
